What is Environmental Monitoring?
Environmental monitoring is the systematic process of measuring and assessing environmental conditions over time to understand how natural and built environments are changing. It involves the collection and interpretation of data from a range of monitoring systems and sensors to track parameters by measuring physical, chemical and biological conditions.
By providing accurate, ongoing insights into site conditions, environmental monitoring helps identify trends, detect potential issues at an early stage, support regulatory compliance, and enable informed decision-making.
Environmental monitoring systems can be implemented in both controlled indoor settings, such as museums, hospitals, schools, and data centres, and in wider outdoor environments, providing continuous, reliable data to help understand environmental conditions and identify changes over time.
We Can Montor Many Variables Such As:
- Temperature
- Humidity
- Light level
- Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and other gas volumes
- Air velocity
- Differential air pressure
- Local weather and climate
Sight Automation Portal of time plots requested by our client to show movement on an embankment to monitor an active slip. The client used IPIs with ground pressure, water level sensors and a weather station, all installed by Sight Automation, to provide a full insight into events which are increasing the rate of failure.
